A Manual to Fabricate a Terrorist
Tereza Reichová, Czech Republic 2010, 92 min.
The director – a foreigner – stops by political graffiti in Navarra in Basque country and lets the people that pass by explain to her what do they mean, who made them and why. The movie looks at Basque country, claiming independency from Spain, from an uncommon perspective. We are not going to learn a lot about the ETA, but we are going to learn about political prisoners, torture and autonomous centres evictions. All of this can be hidden under the label of the war on terror. The author herself says in interviews that an impulse for making the movie was her own experience of her friend disappearing and his name appearing on the list of the most wanted ETA terrorists.
There will be a debate with the director after the screening.
