Heaven Shall Burn
It has been fourteen years already since the name Heaven Shall Burn was first heard on the European hardcore scene. Although they have produced an extreme form of metal from the beginning and there have been bands like Bolt Thrower, Marduk or Deicide among their influences, they have always distinguished themselves from bands like these by their ideals. Heaven Shall Burn took the best parts of hardcore, punk and metal to create a revolutionary fusion, composed of promotion of vegetarianism, veganism, straight edge, anti-fascism and egalitarian ideals in general.
Their crucial record Whatever It May Take from 2002 was a turning point for several reasons. It was a conceptual record dedicated to those who devoted their lives to the fight against fascism. The song A Few Upright is a top of the album. It is dedicated to Die Weiße Rose, a group of students of Munich University executed by Gestapo for a poster campaign against Adolf Hitler in 1943. The record was also a door opener to the Century Media label. Heaven Shall Burn traveled Europe and its biggest festivals to promote their next release, Antigone. They shocked the audiences by the visual projection that showed fascism as a living threat for the 21st century. Their shows are a pure explosion of energy and the band is considered the total top in what the genre can offer. Nevertheless, they still uncompromisingly stick to their ideals and openly support anti-fascist and anarchist collectives all around the world. This year we have the opportunity to witness an exclusive show introducing their latest album Invictus (Iconoclast III).
